Trace Elliot TE-1200 is a bass amplifier head with dual-band compression.

The advertised rating is 1200 W RMS. The manual’s measurements at 1% THD+N specify 1100 W into 4 Ω and 835 W into 8 Ω. The combined cabinet load must be at least 4 Ω.

Four-band EQ and independent low/high compressor controls adjust tone and dynamics. Place compression before or after the EQ, and use Pre-Shape for the classic Trace Elliot voicing.

The XLR DI offers pre/post-EQ selection and Ground Lift. A switchable-level effects loop accommodates external processors. Preamp Out and Power Amp In provide separate access to the amplifier stages; plugging into either interrupts their internal connection.

The supplied four-button footswitch controls the effects loop, Pre-Shape, compression and mute. USB sends the processed signal to a computer for recording and has no audio input capability. Connecting headphones automatically disconnects the power-amplifier signal.

Who Is It For
