Description
Technics SL-40CBT Turntable
The built-in MM phono stage lets you connect to the line input of powered speakers or an amplifier. Using the LINE output removes the need for a separate phono stage. The PHONO output connects to an external phono stage or an amplifier with an MM phono input.
Bluetooth transmits record playback to compatible wireless speakers or headphones, so no audio cable is needed between them and the turntable.
A coreless direct drive motor maintains stable platter rotation, with 33 1/3 and 45 rpm selected by dedicated buttons.
The MDF body houses an S-shaped tonearm with a removable headshell for accurate groove tracking. The supplied Audio-Technica AT-VM95C cartridge has a conical stylus and is matched to the built-in MM phono circuit.
The tonearm is operated manually. Before first use, balance the arm and set tracking force and anti-skating.
Main Features
- Digital speed control: each unit is factory calibrated and uses digitally optimised motor drive signals for accurate rotation.
- The die-cast aluminium platter has reinforcing ribs and a directly mounted motor magnet for accurate drive performance.
- Rubber feet reduce vibration and hum, limiting vibration transmitted to the turntable.
- Separate power, motor control and phono boards are positioned away from the cartridge, with non-crossing wiring to help reduce distortion.
- An electronic platter brake stops the platter when the START-STOP button is pressed.
- Bluetooth activation and reconnection can each be automatic or manual, with pairing memory for up to 8 devices.
- Automatic power-off switches the unit off after approximately 20 min of inactivity without button presses.
- Cardboard packing cushions replace expanded polystyrene padding to reduce plastic use.
