Tannoy GOLD 8 is an active 8-inch studio monitor with a Dual Concentric driver.

For nearfield monitoring, the high-frequency driver is mounted at the centre of the low-frequency driver. The two transducers operate as a single point source, providing controlled dispersion and a broad optimal listening area.

The low- and high-frequency drivers are powered separately by an integrated Class-AB bi-amplification system with 300 W maximum output power. A front-firing bass reflex port allows placement closer to a wall, while the high- and low-frequency controls help adapt the response to the room.

The balanced XLR and 1/4-inch TRS inputs remain active simultaneously, allowing two audio sources to be connected. A stereo signal can be connected to the 3.5 mm INPUT and sent to a second monitor through the Monitor Link output. A rear-panel switch assigns the left or right channel to each monitor. Automatic standby can be switched on or off.
