Tannoy GOLD 5 is an active studio monitor designed for accurate sound reproduction at close listening distances.

Its 5-inch Dual Concentric driver places the high-frequency driver in the centre of the low-frequency driver. This point-source arrangement provides controlled dispersion and a broad optimal listening area.

The low- and high-frequency drivers are powered separately by an integrated Class-AB bi-amplification system with 200 W maximum output power. A front-firing bass reflex port allows placement closer to a wall, while the high- and low-frequency controls help adapt the response to the room.

The balanced XLR and 1/4-inch TRS inputs remain active simultaneously, allowing two audio sources to be connected. The 3.5 mm stereo input and Monitor Link output can carry the signal to a second monitor, while a rear-panel switch assigns the left or right channel. Automatic standby can be switched on or off.
