The Sommer Cable (HICON) RJ45C6XL is a specialized RJ45 connector that solves a common problem: how to terminate thick, rigid installation cables (e.g., CAT.7) directly with a plug. Standard RJ45 connectors are often unsuitable for such cables because their insulated conductors are too thick and do not fit into the channels.

This "XL" version is designed for cables with thick conductor insulation (up to 1.5 mm). The connector is fully shielded and features a separate load bar/insert, which simplifies installation and ensures correct conductor placement before crimping. It is an ideal choice for manufacturing high-quality patch cables from a reel.
