Description
Sommer Cable MAGELLAN SPK240 (440-0201) Coaxial Speaker Cable
The Sommer Cable MAGELLAN SPK240 is a professional, large-cross-section coaxial speaker cable. If a standard 2.5 mm² cable is insufficient due to long distances or powerful subwoofers, the SPK240 offers an impressive 2 x 4.0 mm² conductor area. Thanks to its unique coaxial construction (central core + surrounding shield-conductor), this cable remains surprisingly compact with a thickness of only 8.0 mm.
This model is particularly valued among bassists and sound engineers because, due to its high copper content, it ensures a powerful and "fat" low frequency without loss. Additionally, the coaxial geometry suppresses magnetic fields better than conventional parallel cables, resulting in a cleaner signal transmission. The flexible PVC jacket allows for easy coiling, making it suitable not only for installations but also for manufacturing high-quality speaker cables for the stage.
