Description
Sommer Cable MAGELLAN SPK225 (425-0201) Coaxial Speaker Cable
The Sommer Cable MAGELLAN SPK225 is a uniquely constructed coaxial cable designed for acoustic systems. Unlike conventional "figure-8" or twisted cables, this model uses concentric technology: a main conductor in the center, surrounded by a double copper braid that serves as the second conductor.
This construction offers a tremendous advantage in installations: the cable is extremely thin (only 6.0 mm), yet maintains a solid 2 x 2.5 mm² cross-section. This makes it ideal for threading through narrow conduits, wall channels, or wherever wires need to be concealed without sacrificing sound quality. Additionally, the outer braid acts as a shield, providing some protection against external interference.
Key Features
- Construction: Coaxial – saves space and is more flexible than rigid installation cables.
- Compactness: Only 6.0 mm outer diameter (standard 2x2.5 mm cables are typically around 8-9 mm).
- Conductor: Oxygen-free copper (OFC) ensures clean signal transmission.
- Application: Perfect for ELA systems, in-wall installations, Hi-Fi systems.
