The Shure UA874WB is a professional active directional UHF antenna designed to significantly improve signal reception and stability for wireless systems. This antenna utilizes a log-periodic dipole array, which creates a cardioid reception pattern, effectively directing reception to the desired area and rejecting unwanted RF signals from the sides and rear. The WB (Wideband) modification covers an extremely wide frequency range (470–900 MHz), making it versatile and suitable for use with various wireless systems.

The main advantage of this antenna is its integrated low-noise amplifier with a 4-position gain switch. This allows the user to compensate for signal loss due to long coaxial cables (by selecting +6 dB or +12 dB), or to attenuate the signal (-6 dB) when close to transmitters. The antenna also features a unique RF overload LED indicator, which visually warns of excessively strong signals, helping to prevent distortion. The robust construction is weather-resistant, making it suitable for outdoor installations.
