Shure Beta 87A Vocal Condenser Microphone
The Shure Beta 87A is a precisely engineered solution designed for lead and backing vocalists who require maximum detail and clarity on stage. Unlike dynamic microphones, this electret condenser microphone features an extremely wide frequency response and fast transient response, making the voice sound natural and "warm."
The microphone has a very consistent supercardioid polar pattern. This allows for effective isolation of the performer's voice from other stage instruments and reduces the risk of feedback, even at high sound levels. The integrated low-frequency roll-off compensates for the "proximity effect," preventing the sound from becoming too bassy or "muddy" when singing very close to the microphone.
Key Features
- Sound Quality: The condenser capsule ensures studio-quality precision and crisp high frequencies.
- Polar Pattern: Supercardioid ensures maximum gain-before-feedback and isolation from side noise.
- Control: Electronic low-frequency roll-off compensates for the proximity effect.
- Durability: Robust Shure construction and hardened steel grille protect against impacts.
- Quiet Operation: Advanced capsule shock mount system absorbs mechanical noise, and the integrated pop filter suppresses breath sounds.
