The SM-8/2 controls up to 12 fixtures with a maximum of 16 DMX channels per fixture.

Eight channel faders operate across two pages, providing access to a total of 192 channels for conventional fixtures or moving heads that fit within the per-fixture channel limit.

The controller stores 240 scenes in 30 banks of eight, together with six chases.

Scenes can be selected individually or played automatically and in response to sound. Separate speed and fade faders adjust the timing and transitions during chase playback.

Main Features

• Fixture channels can be freely patched to faders, allowing the operator to arrange different fixtures around a consistent control layout.
• Channel fader direction can be reversed and channel assignments changed during programming.
• The six chases can be linked in sequence. Each chase can contain up to 240 steps using the stored scenes.
• Automatic playback, sound activation and Tap Sync offer different ways to set the scene-change tempo.
• MIDI support provides external control of scenes and banks. The rear panel carries separate 3-pin and 5-pin XLR DMX outputs and a polarity selector.
• Dedicated fog and strobe buttons support compatible equipment with the appropriate connections. Conventional DMX fixtures still require their relevant DMX channels to be programmed.
