The sE Electronics V Pack Venue Standard is a four-dynamic-microphone package for the core elements of an acoustic drum kit. It includes a V KICK for kick drum, two V BEAT microphones for tom or snare duties, and a V7 X instrument microphone. The system is intended for stages, rehearsal rooms and recording studios.

The V KICK is a supercardioid kick-drum microphone with two voicing switches that provide four combinations of low- and high-frequency character. The two V BEAT microphones use the same DMC7 X capsule family as the V7 X and have compact bodies for close placement around toms. Both attach directly to drum rims with the included V CLAMP mounts.

The V7 X is a supercardioid dynamic instrument microphone, normally used on snare in this package. All four microphones are passive dynamic designs and do not need 48 V phantom power. Their 3-pin XLR outputs connect to microphone inputs on a mixer, stagebox or audio interface.

The package is stored in a V Case with a shaped-foam interior. The case has spare positions for one more V BEAT with V CLAMP and three small-diaphragm microphones, allowing the system to grow. The Venue Standard package does not include overhead or hi-hat microphones, XLR cables or stands; these must be selected separately.

Who Is It For

The V Pack Venue is intended for sound-rental companies, smaller venues, drummers and studios that already own overhead microphones or want to select them separately. A typical layout uses V KICK on kick, V7 X on snare and two V BEATs on toms. Four XLR cables and a stand or suitable mount for the V7 X are required; a complete drum image also needs separate overhead microphones and stands.
