The sE Electronics V Pack Arena is a seven-microphone system for a complete acoustic drum kit on stage or in the recording studio. It combines dynamic V Series microphones for kick, toms and snare with a factory-matched pair of sE8 condenser microphones for cymbals and the overall drum-kit image.

The V KICK covers kick drum or floor tom and provides four voicings selected by two switches. Three compact V BEAT microphones attach to drum rims with the included V CLAMP mounts, avoiding separate stands around the toms. The V7 X is a supercardioid dynamic instrument microphone, normally assigned to snare in this package.

The two sE8 small-diaphragm true condensers are factory-matched for stereo overhead placement. Each sE8 provides -10/-20 dB pads and 80/160 Hz low-cut filters. These two microphones require 48 V phantom power; the V KICK, V BEAT and V7 X are passive dynamic microphones.

All microphones and mounts fit into a V Case with a shaped-foam interior and one spare position for another pencil condenser. XLR cables, microphone stands and a dedicated hi-hat microphone are not included. Because the microphones use supercardioid or cardioid patterns, placement and monitor angles must account for their rear sensitivity areas.

Who Is It For

The V Pack Arena is intended for sound-rental companies, venues, clubs, drummers and studios that need a complete drum-microphone package in one case. A typical layout uses V KICK on kick, V7 X on snare, three V BEATs on toms and two sE8s as a stereo overhead pair. Seven XLR cables, two stands for the sE8 pair, a stand or suitable mount for the V7 X and two channels of 48 V phantom power are required.
