sE Electronics V-KICK Kick Drum Microphone
The sE Electronics V-KICK is a compact dynamic microphone for kick drum and other loud, low-frequency sources. The manufacturer also recommends it for floor tom, percussion and bass-guitar cabinets, making it suitable for stages, rehearsal rooms and recording studios.
Its DMC7 SB capsule uses an aluminium voice coil and is tuned specifically for very low and loud sources. The supercardioid polar pattern helps control pickup from nearby instruments. A patented integrated capsule suspension reduces transferred mechanical vibration, while the all-metal housing, spring-steel grille and gold-plated XLR connector are designed for frequent use.
Two recessed switches on the rear provide four voicing combinations. One selects the overall Classic or Modern character, while the second changes the high-frequency response. The low-profile body and integrated swivel joint allow placement outside the drum or through a resonant-head port. Once positioned, the mount can be secured with the included knurled nut.
