The sE Electronics sE4100 is a compact cardioid large-diaphragm true-condenser microphone. It is intended for vocals, acoustic guitar, guitar cabinets, piano, orchestra, strings, woodwinds, brass, drums and drum overheads.

Its hand-built 1-inch capsule uses two gold-sputtered Mylar diaphragms, while the sE4100 itself operates in a fixed cardioid pattern. The low-profile body allows close placement against a drum, guitar cabinet or other source. An all-metal chassis and spring-steel grille protect the capsule and help reject electrical interference.

The -10 and -20 dB pad settings raise maximum sound-pressure handling to 147 or 157 dB SPL. The 80 and 160 Hz low-cut filters reduce vibration, rumble and excessive proximity-effect bass. The microphone requires 48 V phantom power. A custom shockmount and metal case are supplied; an XLR cable and stand are not included.
