The sE Electronics DM2 TNT is an active inline microphone preamplifier for passive dynamic and passive ribbon microphones. Connected between the microphone and a mixer, audio interface or standalone preamp, it provides a choice of +15 or +30 dB gain.

Eight input-load settings from 50 ohms to 10 megohms let the user match the electrical load to a particular passive microphone. The Class-A circuit, selected FETs and dedicated output buffer provide gain with low output impedance. Gain and load settings are located under the removable body sleeve and adjusted with the supplied screwdriver.

The DM2 draws 48 V phantom power from the following microphone input but does not pass it to the connected microphone. It is consequently incompatible with condenser and active ribbon microphones. Gold-plated XLR connectors and an all-metal housing suit studio, broadcast and live use.

Who Is It For

The DM2 is intended for passive dynamic or ribbon microphones that need extra gain and adjustable loading. It requires an XLR microphone input supplying 48 V phantom power. Do not use it with microphones that require phantom power to reach the microphone itself.
