Samson MD2 Pro combines two passive DI channels for converting a stereo source or two independent unbalanced instrument and line-level signals to balanced low-impedance XLR outputs. It can connect a stereo keyboard, electronic drum kit, two guitars, or other sources to a mixing console, audio interface, or stage box.

Each channel provides a 1/4-inch TS Input, a parallel Thru output, and its own three-position 0, -10, or -20 dB pad. The Thru jacks keep stage amplifiers or monitors connected to the original signals. A Stereo/Mono switch either preserves discrete left and right paths or sends the sum of both inputs to both XLR outputs.

Two Samson STLX transformers use Faraday and Mu-Metal shielding to protect the signal paths from hum and radio-frequency interference. Each XLR output has an independent Ground Lift switch, allowing ground-loop problems to be addressed one channel at a time. The passive circuit requires no battery or phantom power.

The MD2 Pro is housed in a 14-gauge steel chassis. Its inputs cover instrument and line-level sources, while the pads provide headroom for higher-level signals. When connecting an amplifier output, the correct attenuation must be selected before making the connection and the manufacturer’s wiring instructions must be followed.
