Samson MBA28 is an articulating microphone boom arm designed to mount on a desk or other rigid work surface. It is intended for podcasting, broadcasting, streaming, and home studios where the microphone needs to move close to the speaker and then swing away without loosening several separate stand joints.

The steel arm uses internal springs to support its position while keeping the mechanism out of the external working area. Maximum horizontal or vertical reach is 28 inches / 71.1 cm. A standard 5/8-27 thread accepts a compatible microphone clip or shock mount, and the combined microphone and mount load must not exceed 5 lb / 2.27 kg.

Two installation methods are included. The C-clamp attaches temporarily to a desk edge up to 3 inches / 7.62 cm thick, while the flange mount screws permanently to a wooden surface using the supplied screws. The desk or panel must be strong enough to withstand the leverage of the extended arm and microphone.

A microphone clip, shock mount, and audio cable are not included. The cable should be secured so that it cannot be pinched by the joints or restrict the arm’s complete range of movement.
