Samson DE60x is a low-profile dual-ear condenser headset microphone with a 7.35 mm cardioid capsule. Its directional pickup focuses on sound arriving from the front and rejects some surrounding noise, making it useful for speech and vocals on stage, in theatre, broadcasting, presentations, and houses of worship.

The adjustable headframe and microphone boom allow the capsule to sit roughly 6-25 mm behind the corner of the mouth. Because a cardioid element’s low-frequency response changes with distance, placement should be set before transmitter gain is finalised. Positioning the capsule directly in front of the mouth should be avoided to reduce breath noise.

Four supplied 1.2 m adapter cables terminate in 3.5 mm, Hirose 4-pin, Switchcraft TA3F, and Switchcraft TA4F connectors. The microphone can work with many Samson and third-party wireless bodypacks when connector type, pin wiring, and the transmitter’s 0.8-5 V DC supply are all compatible.

The DE60x handles up to 135 dB SPL and covers 50 Hz to 18 kHz. Its gold-plated connector, moisture-resistant coating, stainless-steel grille, and IP65 rating protect against dust and water jets, but the microphone must not be immersed.

Who Is It For

The DE60x is intended for speakers and performers who need a directional hands-free microphone. Correct capsule distance and orientation matter more than with an omnidirectional design. The microphone connects to a compatible wireless bodypack and has no standalone XLR output.
