Description
SAMSON CL7a Studio Microphone
The Samson CL7a is a reliable large-diaphragm condenser microphone designed for home and professional studios. Its core is a 1.1-inch (28mm) gold-sputtered capsule with a 3-micron thick diaphragm, which ensures warm, balanced, and detailed sound. The microphone has a fixed cardioid polar pattern, which is perfect for isolating a vocalist or instrument from unwanted room reverberation.
Unlike many basic models, the CL7a has two useful switches on its body: a 100 Hz high-pass filter, which eliminates low-frequency noise (e.g., microphone stand vibrations or fan hum), and a -10 dB pad switch. The latter allows the microphone to withstand very high sound pressure levels (up to 147 dB), meaning it can record even loud guitar amplifiers or drums without distortion.
The robust die-cast metal body and internal capsule shock mounting ensure durability and protection against mechanical interference.
