Polk Audio Atrium 8 SDI is a passive outdoor speaker that can reproduce both stereo channels.

Connect both amplifier channels to one speaker when a conventional stereo pair cannot be placed conveniently. The single-input setting also lets it serve as the left or right speaker of a stereo pair.

A 6.5-inch Dynamic Balance driver uses a aerated polypropylene cone for bass and midrange. Two 1-inch anodized aluminium dome tweeters and a dual-voice-coil main driver handle two channels within one cabinet.

The Speed-Lock bracket supports horizontal or vertical installation. Click the speaker into the bracket, aim it, then tighten the adjustment knobs. The mounting system provides 180° adjustment.

Gold-plated 5-way binding posts accept the speaker cable. A separate amplifier with suitable 8 Ω speaker outputs is required. These passive models have no built-in amplifier, Bluetooth connection or battery.

Main Features

• Water-resistant PowerPort venting manages airflow and, according to the manufacturer, adds 3 dB of bass output.
• Polk All-Weather construction meets the environmental tests stated by the manufacturer: ASTM D5894, MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-883 Method 1009.8.
• A mineral-filled polypropylene cabinet, powder-coated aluminium grille and bracket, plus stainless steel and brass hardware are designed for outdoor use.
• Black or white cabinets and removable grilles can be painted following the manufacturer instructions. Keep the grille perforations clear of paint.
• Built-in stability feet allow placement on a shelf or another flat horizontal surface.
• Installation under eaves reduces direct exposure to the elements. The manufacturer recommends indoor storage when extreme weather is expected.
