Peavey 6505 1992 Original is a 120 W all-tube guitar amplifier head. Rhythm and Lead channels provide two gain paths for use with a guitar cabinet of the appropriate impedance.

Five 12AX7 preamp tubes feed a power section with four 6L6GC tubes. Each channel has Pre Gain and Post Gain controls, so distortion and channel volume can be set independently.

Bright and Crunch switches expand the Rhythm channel's range from cleaner tones to more driven sounds. Shared three-band EQ, Presence and Resonance controls adjust frequency balance and power-stage response.

High Gain and Normal inputs accommodate guitars with different output levels. An effects loop accepts external processors, and the preamp output sends the signal to other audio equipment.
