The ELEMENT One is an 8-voice polyphonic virtual analog synthesizer built around a synthesis engine derived from Modal's Cobalt architecture, featuring 64 high-resolution oscillators (up to 8 per voice), 31 resonant filter types, and a full modulation matrix. The instrument is designed around direct, physical access to synthesis parameters: 17 endless encoders, 4 assignable control knobs, and a 4-axis joystick cover the most important parameters without requiring menu navigation for day-to-day use.

The 37-key full-size keyboard with velocity and channel aftertouch connects directly to the synthesis engine's modulation system, allowing expressive real-time control over filter, amplitude, and any of the 55 assignable modulation destinations. Three independent stereo effects engines, a programmable 32-step arpeggiator, and 500 patch memories (300 factory, 200 user) round out the feature set. The free MODALapp editor, available for macOS, Windows, iOS, Android, VST3, and AU, provides full patch management and deeper parameter access when needed.
