DPA MMP-B Microphone Preamp

DPA MMP-B is a modular pencil microphone preamp with switchable filters.

It accepts compatible DPA capsules in the series and provides a 3-pin XLR output. The connected equipment must supply P48 phantom power.

A third-order 50 Hz low-cut filter is permanently active. Two rings let you switch on a further first-order low cut below 120 Hz and a +4 dB high-frequency boost at 8 kHz without tools. These options attenuate low-frequency noise or lift the high frequencies before the signal reaches other equipment.

Its balanced output connects to professional audio equipment, and DPA specifies up to 100 m cable drive capability. The electrical figures below belong to the MMP-B; microphone sensitivity, pickup pattern and self-noise also depend on the selected capsule.
