DPA MMC4017 Shotgun Microphone Capsule

DPA MMC4017 is a modular shotgun microphone capsule for the DPA d:dicate pencil microphone series.

Its pre-polarized condenser capsule and interference tube focus pickup toward the intended source while rejecting sound from the sides. It can be combined with compatible preamps in the series.

The frequency, sensitivity and noise figures in DPA’s capsule guide were measured with the MMP-A preamp. They do not describe a capsule operating on its own; the selected preamp also matters when assessing a complete microphone.

The MMC4017 capsule weighs 30 g. DPA specifies an operating temperature of −40 °C to 45 °C and relative humidity up to 90%. This is a separately sold capsule, so its output connector and controls depend on the preamp chosen for it.
