DPA MMC4017 is a modular capsule for the 4017 shotgun microphone.

It must be paired with a compatible DPA preamp. The capsule alone does not replace a complete microphone if the required preamp or connection is missing.

Its interference design focuses pickup toward a chosen direction and reduces sound from the sides. DPA describes the capsule's directional pattern as hypercardioid.

This modular component is for building a 4017 microphone or replacing its capsule. DPA associates the 4017 family with film, ENG and television production.
