Marantz CINEMA 50 SERIES 2 is a 9.4-channel home cinema AV receiver with Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, 8K HDMI, HEOS and room correction technologies for movies, music and gaming.

Nine discrete amplification channels deliver 110 W per channel into 8 Ω and support multichannel home cinema systems with dedicated height speakers. Processing and pre-amplifier outputs for up to 11.4 channels allow the system to be expanded with external power amplifiers. Four independent subwoofer outputs provide flexible control over low-frequency reproduction throughout the room.

An upgraded digital-to-analogue converter, HDAM-SA2 modules, current-feedback circuitry and clock-jitter reduction help reproduce dynamic changes and the position of sound sources with precision. Every CINEMA Series receiver is tuned by Marantz Sound Masters according to the manufacturer’s established performance criteria.

Supported formats include Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Atmos, Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization, Dolby Atmos Music, DTS-HD, DTS:X, DTS Neural:X, DTS Virtual:X, Auro-3D, IMAX Enhanced, 360 Reality Audio and MPEG-H. Audyssey MultEQ XT32 automatically adjusts the speaker system to suit the room, while Dirac Live upgrade capability provides an additional room correction option.

All six HDMI inputs support video signals up to 8K/60 Hz or 4K/120 Hz with bandwidth up to 40 Gbps. Three HDMI outputs, including eARC and a dedicated Zone output, provide flexible connectivity for televisions, projectors and other video equipment. HDR10+, Dolby Vision, Dynamic HDR, VRR, QFT, ALLM and AMD FreeSync support make the receiver suitable for both home cinema and modern gaming systems.

Powered by HEOS supports music streaming and multi-room audio. The receiver also supports AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Roon Ready, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and wired Ethernet. A dedicated MM phono input allows a compatible turntable to be connected directly.
