Like most other double-locking tremolos,
it is based on the original Floyd Rose design.
It has two knife edges that pivot on posts.
The strings are locked at the saddles, which can be
adjusted from front to back for intonation.
The string tension is counterbalanced by a set of springs in the back cavity
that attach to a claw allowing tension adjustment.
With this design, the bridge itself floats.
Since the bridge is mounted in a cavity routed from the top of the guitar,
this design allows the guitarist to pull up on or depress the whammy bar
to adjust the pitch up or down
