The Electro-Voice ND96 is a dynamic supercardioid vocal microphone designed for live vocals on very loud stages, delivering high gain before feedback and focused voice reproduction.

Its specialised structural and acoustic design helps vocals remain clear and prominent alongside loud instruments. The supercardioid polar pattern provides focused sound pickup and reduces spill from surrounding stage sources.

The large-diaphragm dynamic capsule combines a neodymium magnet structure with a large Mylar diaphragm. Its broad surface area supports balanced tone, while the low-mass diaphragm material provides fast transient response.

A selectable vocal presence emphasis switch offers an alternative sonic character by reducing selected low-mid frequencies and emphasising key upper-midrange presence areas. This helps improve vocal intelligibility and definition in high-energy sound reinforcement applications.

A four-point capsule suspension and tuned pneumatic damping system reduce vibrations and noise transmitted through the microphone body. The humbucking coil attenuates AC hum and electromagnetic interference, while a hydrophobic cloth membrane protects the diaphragm from moisture and debris. The dent-resistant Memraflex grille provides additional protection during demanding live use.
