Description
ELECTRO-HARMONIX Tone Corset Analog Compressor / Sustainer
The Electro-Harmonix Tone Corset is a compact analog compressor designed to provide maximum dynamics control. From subtle sound smoothing to extreme "squashing" – this pedal can do it all. Thanks to its analog circuitry, it adds warmth and an organic feel to the signal, which digital processors often lack.
The biggest advantage of this pedal is the Blend knob. It allows you to mix the clean (uncompressed) signal with the compressed one. This opens the door to so-called "parallel compression," often used in studios: you get long sustain and sound density, but you retain the natural note attack and dynamics. The additional Pad switch allows you to reduce the input signal, making the pedal perfectly compatible with powerful "humbucker" type pickups or bass guitars.
Key Features
- 4-knob design: Provides more control than standard 2-3 knob compressors.
- Blend control: Allows mixing of Dry (clean) and Compressed (effected) signals for a natural sound.
- Attack control: Adjusts how quickly the compressor reacts to playing (from instant squeeze to missed attack).
- Pad switch: Reduces the input signal to prevent unwanted distortion when using powerful instruments.
- True Bypass: When the pedal is disengaged, the signal passes through unaffected.
