Electro-Harmonix Adrian Belew Echoflanger Effects Pedal
Electro-Harmonix Adrian Belew Echoflanger is an analog effects pedal. This limited-edition BBD-based reissue recreates the Echoflanger and adds two combination modes inspired by Adrian Belew’s sounds.
Six modes cover chorus, flanging, short echo and fixed comb filtering. Chorus + Flange combines the two modulation effects, while Slap Back + Filter Matrix brings short echo together with a fixed filter.
FEEDBACK changes effect intensity or the number of echoes and can push the circuit into self-oscillation at high settings. RATE, WIDTH and TUNE shape modulation speed, depth and centre point according to the selected mode.
The BLEND switch removes the dry signal for vibrato-type effects. Use MONO/L with one amplifier or add the R output for a stereo setup with two amplifiers.
Main Features
- Six modes cover modulation, short echo and combined effects.
- A BBD circuit produces analog time and pitch modulation.
- Chorus + Flange combines both effects in one mode.
- FEEDBACK ranges from subtle processing to self-oscillation.
- BLEND selects a dry/effect mix or an effect-only signal.
- Two outputs support stereo operation with two amplifiers.
- Momentary footswitch action enables short effect accents.
- An included power adapter supplies the pedal for immediate use.
Technical Specifications
- Circuit: analog BBD modulation, Adrian Belew Echoflanger reissue
- Modes: Filter Matrix, Flange, Chorus + Flange, Chorus, Slap Back, Slap Back + Filter Matrix
- Effects: fixed comb filtering in Filter Matrix, swept filtering in Flange, modulated echo in Chorus and unmodulated short delay in Slap Back
- FEEDBACK: effect intensity or echo repeats; high settings can cause self-oscillation
- RATE and WIDTH: approximately 0.1-10 Hz rate and modulation depth; both disabled in Filter Matrix, Slap Back and Slap Back + Filter Matrix
- TUNE: modulation centre, filter frequency or echo delay, depending on mode
- VOLUME: overall effect output level
- BLEND: includes or removes the dry signal for conventional modulation or vibrato-type effects
- Audio connections: instrument input, MONO/L and R outputs; summing the outputs to mono can reduce or cancel the effect
- Impedance and levels: input 330 kΩ, output 550 Ω; maximum input +5.6 dBu, output +16 dBu
- Bypass: True Bypass with mechanical relays
- Footswitch: latching or momentary action when held for over 0.5 s; momentary operation can be disabled and the setting is retained
- Power: 9 V DC, 190 mA, centre-negative; maximum 10.5 V DC; EHX 9.6DC-200 adapter included
- Dimensions: 5.75 x 4.75 x 2.5 inches
- Compatibility: instrument or preceding pedal, one amplifier in mono or two amplifiers for stereo
- Connection order: attach audio connections before applying power
What’s Included
