The Electro-Harmonix Green Russian Big Muff Pi is the long-awaited return of the legendary "Sovtek" era pedal in a compact "Nano" enclosure. First appearing in the mid-90s, this effect quickly became a classic among Stoner Rock, Indie, and alternative music artists (such as The Black Keys and Sonic Youth).

This version faithfully recreates the unique character of the original: it has fewer "scooped" mid-frequencies and a much more massive bass than the traditional Big Muff. This gives it a distinctive "sludge" and "sizzle" tone. The controls remain classic: Tone adjusts the sound color (from deep bass to sharp treble), Sustain sets the amount of distortion and note sustain, and Volume controls the overall output level.
