DPA 4055 – a revolutionary Kick Drum microphone
The DPA 4055 is designed to give drums the legendary, clear DPA sound, characterized by a linear frequency response both on and off-axis. This microphone captures the true, unembellished sound of the kick drum, whether used for jazz, rock, classical, or any other genre. Its unique asymmetrical design makes positioning the microphone extremely easy, both inside and outside the drum, while the robust housing with a special shock mount prepares it for any live sound scenario.
Unlike many other kick drum microphones, the 4055 is not pre-tuned for a specific sound, allowing sound engineers to shape the sound as needed. The microphone boasts an extreme 164 dB maximum sound pressure level (SPL), ensuring that even the most powerful impacts are captured without any distortion.
