DPA 4017C Shotgun Microphone

DPA 4017C is a compact condenser shotgun microphone with the MMP-C preamp.

Its interference design focuses pickup toward a chosen source and reduces sound arriving from the sides. This is useful in film and broadcast work.

The 154 mm body is shorter than a 4017B fitted with MMP-B. A shorter microphone is easier to place where camera or mount space is limited.

The 4017C lacks the 4017B's switchable 120 Hz and 8 kHz filters. Its MMP-C preamp provides active impedance balancing at the output. The microphone has a 3-pin XLR connector, uses P48 phantom power and weighs 70 g. DPA specifies a 146 dB SPL peak limit at 10% THD for this configuration.
