The DPA 2011C Twin Diaphragm Cardioid Microphone (Compact) is a high-end instrumental microphone that combines unique Twin Diaphragm technology with an extremely compact body. This technology uses two opposing miniature capsules that work together as one large diaphragm, ensuring a fast impulse response and powerful sound, characteristic of large-diaphragm microphones, while maintaining the precision of a small capsule.

The microphone features a cardioid polar pattern, which effectively isolates the desired sound source and suppresses unwanted noise from the sides and rear. Thanks to the MMP-C preamplifier (which acts as a compact signal controller), the microphone is only 92 mm long, making it easy to hide or mount in tight spaces (for example, on drums, inside a piano, or on guitar amplifiers). Its design also incorporates an interference tube, which helps maintain controlled directionality at high frequencies.
