DPA 2006C Twin Diaphragm Omnidirectional Microphone (Compact)

The DPA 2006C Twin Diaphragm Omnidirectional Microphone (Compact) is a unique "Pencil" series microphone that combines the best features of two worlds. It uses an innovative "Twin Diaphragm" capsule: two miniature diaphragms are mounted opposite each other, which allows for the low noise level and fast impulse response characteristic of large-diaphragm microphones, while maintaining the accuracy of a small capsule.

This "C" (Compact) version uses the MMP-C preamplifier (which acts as a compact signal controller), making the microphone significantly shorter and easier to conceal than the standard A model. Due to its omnidirectional characteristic, it captures sound extremely naturally, without the "Proximity" effect (bass boost when getting closer), making it ideal for recording instruments, choirs, or as a main stereo pair (A-B). The capsule has a specially shaped frequency response with a gentle "Soft boost" in the high frequencies, giving the sound clarity.
