AUDIO-TECHNICA AE5100 Large-Diaphragm Cardioid Condenser Instrument Microphone
The Audio-Technica AE5100 is a large-diaphragm cardioid condenser instrument microphone from the Artist Elite series, providing uncompromising sound quality for overheads, percussion, acoustic guitar, strings, choir, and other acoustic instruments. Its large-diaphragm capsule delivers a rich, warm, accurate response, while the low-profile design — smaller than typical large-diaphragm studio condensers — allows flexible placement without visual intrusion. A switchable high-pass filter and 10 dB pad provide additional control. Phantom power is required.
Key Features
- Large-diaphragm fixed-charge condenser capsule for rich, warm, and accurate sound reproduction across a wide range of acoustic instruments.
- Low-profile design that is more compact than typical large-diaphragm studio condensers, providing an outstanding performance-to-size ratio.
- Cardioid polar pattern with a uniform 120° acceptance angle for consistent, focused pickup of the intended source.
- Switchable high-pass filter (-12 dB/octave at 80 Hz) to reduce proximity effect and low-frequency rumble.
- Switchable 10 dB pad for use with high-SPL sources.
- Handles up to 148 dB SPL (158 dB with pad) for versatile use from delicate acoustic sources to loud instruments.
