ALLEN & HEATH DX168 is a portable 16-input, 8-output 96 kHz digital stage box designed to place remote audio connections close to the stage in compatible dLive, Avantis, SQ, Qu and AHM systems.

Sixteen balanced XLR mic/line inputs feature remotely controlled preamps, +48 V phantom-power indicators and a −20 dB active pad. Eight balanced XLR line outputs are relay protected.

Locking DX A and DX B EtherCon ports carry 96 kHz audio, control and system-status data. DX B can operate in Cascade mode for a second compatible DX expander or in Redundant mode for a backup connection to compatible hardware.

The DX168 can be positioned up to 100 m from the mixer or an upstream DX expander using Cat5e or higher shielded cable. Its steel chassis, rubber bumpers and carry handle suit portable use, while a separately available kit allows installation in a 19-inch rack.
