Modernization of Plungė Culture Centre's Stage Technologies

Plungė Culture Centre is one of the most important cultural hubs in the region, hosting dozens of concerts, plays, festivities, and community events every year. As the Centre's activities expanded, it became necessary to update the aging technical infrastructure and implement modern stage technology solutions to ensure reliable operation and high-quality artistic performances. In this project, the Stage IQ team implemented a complete package of stage technology modernization: from sound and lighting systems to mechanics, video broadcasting, and audience space management.

Main Hall: Sound, Lighting, and Video Systems

New sound, lighting, and video systems were installed in the main hall, adapted to the Centre's ongoing need to organize various formats of events. The upgrade included:

  • a professional sound system for the hall,
  • stage and hall lighting infrastructure,
  • video broadcasting equipment for event projections and visual content.

The systems are designed to be easily managed by the local technical team and to ensure stable operation during both small events and larger concerts.

Overhead Stage Mechanization and Counterweight Systems

One of the most significant stages of the project was the modernization of stage mechanization. The Centre's stage was equipped with:

  • a new overhead stage mechanization system,
  • fully renovated old counterweight lifting equipment,
  • safety and control devices that allow precise management of stage rigging.

These technologies are essential for the safe and smooth organization of stage work, especially in performances that use sets, suspended lighting fixtures, or special effects.

Auditorium Automatic Lighting Dimming

A modern automatic lighting dimming system was installed in the auditorium. It allows for:

  • a smooth transition from general lighting to performance mode,
  • automated hall lighting scenarios,
  • increased convenience for event organizers and spectators.

This is an important element that enhances the professionalism of the Centre's events and ensures consistent lighting quality throughout all performances.

Stage Curtains and Drapery

The project also included:

  • manufacturing and installation of stage curtains,
  • renewal of drapery,
  • adaptation of stage aesthetics and functionality to the new equipment.

Drapery is an important part of stage technologies, helping to create an appropriate visual environment and improve acoustic properties.

Small Hall: Sound and Lighting Installation

The small hall was also modernized. It was equipped with:

  • a stationary sound system,
  • stage lighting,
  • control equipment for daily events.

This space is often used for rehearsals, educational activities, and community events, so the solutions are adapted for practical and reliable use.

Internal Broadcast System: Corridors and Dressing Rooms

The project was supplemented with a video broadcasting solution that allows real-time monitoring of the stage image:

  • on TV monitors in corridors,
  • in dressing rooms,
  • in technical rooms.

Such systems are essential for the smooth organization of events, especially during theater and concerts, when performers or staff need to follow the progress on stage.

Result

The updated systems improved both the safety of stage work and the technical quality of artistic performances. Plungė Culture Centre now has:

  • modern sound, light, and video infrastructure,
  • updated stage mechanics,
  • comfortable and safe working conditions for technical staff,
  • professional conditions for performers and spectators.

The project demonstrated that regional cultural centers can be modern, technically advanced, and ready to host events of any format.
